Description

Ages: 12+ Players: 2 - 6. The Scattergories game first hit the market in 1989 and became a huge sensation. This 30th - anniversary classic edition comes with the same components and categories as the original game. The mechanical timer has three different time - setting options. You can set it for more time if you want an easier round or less time for a more challenging one. In this game, you need to name items like restaurants, fruits, toys, Halloween costumes, and weapons, all starting with the same initial letter. For example, if the letter is 'C', you could say Chinese restaurant, Cantaloupe, Cap Gun, Clown costume, and Catapult. But remember, be unique! If your answer matches an opponent's, you get no points. There are a whopping 144 different categories to choose from, ranging from pizza toppings to fictional characters. Will Cantonese beat Chinese, Cranberry beat Cantaloupe, or Choo Choo Train beat Cap Gun? Play this fast - thinking word game and find out. Package dimensions are 13.25 in x 10.75 in x 2.88 in. It's made of plastic and can be wiped clean with a dry or damp cloth. Contents include 6 folders, 6 answer pads, 18 category cards with 144 different categories, a mechanical game timer (no batteries needed), a multi - sided oversized category die, a die - rolling board, and illustrated instructions.

How to play: First, gather 2 to 6 players aged 12 or older. Hand out an answer pad and a folder to each player. Roll the multi - sided oversized category die to get a letter and pick a category card. Set the mechanical timer according to how challenging you want the round to be. When the timer starts, start writing down your answers that match the category and start with the given letter. Once the timer rings, stop writing. Compare your answers with other players. If your answer is unique, you score points. Remember, if an answer is the same as someone else's, you get zero points. Keep playing rounds until you've used all the category cards or had enough fun. Note: Keep the game away from small children as some parts like the die could be a choking hazard. Maintenance: Since the game is made of plastic, you can easily wipe it clean with a dry or damp cloth. This will keep it in good condition for many more game nights.
